No disrespect intended to you young dogs

My thinking at times gets somewhat cynical when I see the phrase “Life Lessons. While reading articles on the Medium platform I often think to myself, what does this young pup know? What enlightenment or coaching could they offer that would teach an old dog new tricks? Right?

Old Timers, Hold On

Let’s take another look (or scratch) at this life lesson thing and try not to cover it up. Regardless the age of the one who is making the contribution.

Admittedly, we would most likely acknowledge that we all have stories from our journeys in life so far, no matter how far down the road we are. We can respect that. Are they really lessons though?

Well, the dictionary defines a lesson as a useful piece of practical wisdom acquired by experience or study.

Wisdom (W) = is learning by experience (E) or study (S). Some of us have a lot (E), others have an abundance of (S), and some are blessed with both (ES).

Thankfully, on the Medium platform, we have opportunities to learn from others, no matter if derived from (E), (S), or (ES). It all adds up to Wisdom and applicable to an individuals thought and decision.
