“Kick The Can Down The Road” Stop Doing This
Make A Decision
The phrase used for considering this article title originated during The Great Depression Era. At a time when children had few toys or activities, one would take a tin can and literally “kick it down the road.”
Approximately 93 years later, who would of thought that this idiom would have profound and meaningful application today?
During a recent leadership meeting I was attending, this phrase was interjected more than once. The application which everyone understood was:
Gentlemen, we need to make a decision now.
We were guilty of delaying or attempting to avoid an inevitable decision which needed to be made.
Life Application
Are you at a decision point? Make it. There will be times you win and other times you learn from the decision. The next time you see the can on your path just remember to:
Throw it in the trash.
