Thankful For Inspiration

Growing up on the grassland plains of Central Kansas has left me with numerous and undeniable memories of inspiration. The inspiration was everywhere. Whether spring, summer, fall, or winter you didn’t have to look hard to experience it in the landscape.

Most folks are familiar with the old cowboy song, Home On The Range. The song, a little corny possibly to those who have never experienced the inspiration of the great plains. The words from one of the stanzas continues to stick with me and offer some life giving inspiration:

“where seldom is heard a discouraging word.”

Why?

I believe folks were inspired to be and do more with their lives. Yes, there was negativity but not to the degree we experience in our society today. Today, it seems that seldom is heard an encouraging word.

Take an active look at your world today. For example, one of the popular social media platforms in our lives today is full of negative emotions, feelings, and statements. A lot seem to be airing their dirty emotional laundry for our benefit.
